The veteran publicist for Taylor Swift is putting an end to the rumors.

Following a tweet claiming that Swift and her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn held a “marriage” ceremony in 2020 or 2021, the superstar’s representative Tree Paine criticized DeuxMoi, an anonymous Instagram account that disseminates unverified celebrity rumors, on Thursday.

“It’s enough that Deuxmoi is spreading false information about Taylor. There was never a ceremony or marriage of any sort. Paine posted, “This is an absurd thing to post,” on X (previously Twitter. “It’s necessary for you to be punished and held responsible for all the pain and trauma that cause with posts like these.”

Additionally, earlier in the day, DeuxMoi had posted a comment from someone who conjectured that Swift’s song “You’re Losing Me” was motivated by a miscarriage that had strained relations between the now-ex couples. (After Paine tweeted, DeuxMoi removed the post from their Instagram Stories.)

Another post was deleted. DeuxMoi, who has two podcasts and published a book Anon Pls. last year, responded, saying, “Well I make no bucks from lying… can media representatives say the same.” Furthermore, it seems like a bad choice of words to connect what occurred years ago to “pain & trauma” in light of recent events. In any case, I’m sorry to Taylor.”

After six years together, Swift, 33, and Alwyn, 32, have broken up, according to sources who had confirmed this to PEOPLE in April.

The couple avoided engagement rumors during their extremely secret relationship; Alwyn joked to WSJ Magazine, “If I had one pounds for every single time I think that I’ve gotten engaged, then We’d have plenty of pound coins.”

On her Midnights song “Lavender Haze,” Swift—who is presently seeing Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce—also addressed the engagement rumors, singing, “All they continue to inquire about me is whether I’m gonna be your bride/the only kinda girl they believe is a one night or a wife.”

The Grammy winner informed listeners that the tune was prompted by the “weird rumours” and “tabloid stuff” that and Alwyn had experienced during their relationship before the album was released in October 2022.

In an Instagram tease at the time, she stated, “What this tune is about is sort about the act of ignoring all of that to protect the real stuff.”

Swift surprised everyone on Thursday by showing up to Beyoncé’s Renaissance film debut in London. Dressed in an on-theme silver ensemble, Swift expressed her support for other people music industry icon.
