Pamela Anderson says she went makeup-free after personal loss

She described her choice to remove her ’90s makeup style as ‘freeing, joyful, and a touch rebellious.’

Pamela Anderson is widely known for her famous grunge makeup, but the actress claims that those times are long gone.

In an interview with Elle on Tuesday, Aug. 17, the 56-year-old Bay Watch star claimed she’d “abandoned her signature look” after the loss of her makeup artist Alexis Vogel, who died of breast cancer in 2019.

“She was fantastic. And I’ve just thought that without Alexis, it’s healthier for him not to wear cosmetics.”

Anderson was nearly usually seen wearing a dramatic black and silver smoky eye, combined with a plumpy nude pout, prior to Vogel’s murder. And if the lipstick hadn’t been nude, it was either frosted or pinky red.

Anderson told the outlet that she didn’t have much control over her fashion choices at the time, saying, “I simply went with what others were asking me to do.”

However, the previous renovation star is now embracing a more natural style that she describes as “freeing, fun, and a little defiant too.”

“I was aware because there was many individuals done big cosmetics looks, and it’s similar for me that I go across the trends and do exactly the opposite of what everyone’s doing,” Anderson explained.

“I suppose we all begin to look a little strange while we get older,” the V.I.P actress remarked. When I look in the mirror, I find myself laughing at myself. ‘Wow, this is really…what’s going on with me?’ I think. It’s an adventure.”

However, Anderson stated that it has been a happy one. “I feel advocated for,” she explained. “I’m feeling terrific. “I’m in a good spot.”
