Ready to ring in the new year is Shannen Doherty.

During the Christmas Day edition of her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, the 52-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 actress was accompanied by her mother, Rosa Doherty.

“This year is about just having the utmost gratitude for being here and getting to spend moments with the people who stick by our sides no matter what, who don’t give up, who love us without conditions, and who share our values and standards,” Doherty said. “I’m incredibly grateful to be present for it,”

Doherty said, “I even got scheduled my cancer infusions so that I would be fully recovered for Christmas.”

For the past eight years, she has been undergoing cancer therapy.

Before disclosing her Stage 4 diagnosis in February 2020, Doherty was initially diagnosed wit breast cancer in 2015. She disclosed in June that the tumor had progressed to her brain. After that, a tumor in the top of her head was surgically removed.

The actress stated on the podcast episode, “For me, it has been a year filled with some major health challenges, some huge private difficulties, and a lot of sadness and fear.”

The Charmed alum went on, “But with all of it, I have finding… I actually thought to myself the other night, ‘God I think I’m actually commencing to live the most joyful aspect of myself,'” on Monday’s Christmas podcast episode.

“Despite the fact that I’ve had such a difficult year,” Doherty continued. “It feels like it’s become much lighter and more positive lately for some reason.”

The actress said that 2023 is “ending well” and that her heart is “opening back up” as the year draws to a close.

Doherty expressed her joy at the year coming to a conclusion and her belief that “next year’s going to be fantastic.”
