Don’t you think I’ve kissed enough frogs? Ahead of the debut of “Real Housewives Extreme Girls Trip RHONY Legacy,” the Countess tells PEOPLE on Tuesday.
Luann de Lesseps has already decided on her New Year’s resolutions before Christmas has even arrived.
The former Real Housewives of New York City star tells PEOPLE that she intends to settle down and change her relationship status for the upcoming year.
“Being single is the best feeling in the world right now. But because I’m a hopeless romantic, 2024 is what I’m visualizing to be my year of love,” the 58-year-old Baroness says, teasing her appearance in Peacock’s next Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Journey: RHONY Legacy. “Three time’s the charm!”
Over the years, Bravo fans have witnessed both the highs and the lows of Lesseps’ romantic life.
She was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps, her first husband, when RHONY debuted in March 2008. She had two children with him, a son named Noel, 27, and a daughter named Victoria, 29. However, following 16 years of marriage, the Count filed for separation in 2009, leaving de Lesseps “devastated.”
At the time, she spoke to PEOPLE, saying, “I understood that we were somewhat splitting, but I had faith that everything were likely to work out.” She also mentioned that she had always thought she would be “married forever.”
Her breakup was mended by love, especially the French wine distributor Jacques Azoulay, who made an appearance with her on RHONY. After meeting Azoulay, she remarked, “I feel very lucky.” I never imagined that I would be fortunate enough to meet someone of that caliber once more in my life.
After dating for four years, the couple broke up in 2013. In the sixth season of RHONY, she revealed, “Jacques and I broke up, and it’s really hard.” For months, we have been arguing back and forth. Although he is still my best friend and my rock, our desires have changed.
And there was Tom D’Agostino after that. Three months after being met by Dorinda Medley, a co-star of RHUGT: RHONY Legacy, the two became engaged. De Lesseps exclaimed on RHONY with confidence that she had at last found her “soulmate.”
On December 31, 2016, they would tie the knot in a sumptuous three-day ceremony held in Palm Beach, Florida. However, a divorce would occur in just eight months. In a Wendy Williams Show episode, de Lesseps remarked, “You have you blinders on when you love somebody.” “I think you fall very quick, and I’m an extremely powerful person, as many of you understand, Really’m pretty resilient, and I therefore thought I was capable of handling it until the moment when I couldn’t take it anymore.”
Following that, she had a string of brief romantic relationships, one including her representative, Richard Super. De Lesseps is now experiencing a desire for something more substantial. “It’s time,” she states on Tuesday to PEOPLE. “I think I’ve eaten sufficient frogs, don’t you?”
Her search for love finds de Lesseps at the ideal moment. She’s bringing out a brand-new cabaret show tour in 2019 with the cheeky moniker Marry, F, Kill.
Richard-Jay Alexander’s production, which is currently on sale, is an appreciation of everything that is romantic. “It’s about everything: relationships, separation, romance, daily life, and truth — an ideal choice for Valentine’s Day, in fact, as we’re beginning our tour off at The Wiltern in LA on Feb. sixteen, two days later,” she explains. “So I’m excited!”
Additionally, she will be releasing a brand-new song called “Marry, F, Kill.” “I produced the tune with David Roberts, whose wrote my favorite holiday song, ‘What Do I Want for Christmas,'” says de Lesseps. I’m excited for everyone to hear it .
De Lesseps has plenty to occupy her time till then. Her classic song “Money Can’t Buy You Class” has been redone for the holidays in collaboration with Uber. The music video and new lyrics highlight the various ways that money can buy you class when you gift on Uber Eats. The Countess has also created collections for the Uber Eats app, including ones with themes like “Real Housewives,” “Cabaret Queens,” and more, for individuals who are motivated to purchase like her.
She will return to the Housewives universe later this month during the debut of RHUGT: RHONY Legacy.
Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman join de Lesseps on the show for an exciting vacation to the stunning St. Barths, home to one of the most infamous RHONY trips of all time.
