The The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress acknowledged, “I lack a very good fake face, so you can see I’m not thrilled or happy with quite a few of these events that happen to my husband.”
“Difficult,” according to Richards, was filming the season to come of RHOBH. “Something new is here, Kyle,” she said in response to the producers’ comments. This hasn’t happened in 13 years.
Kyle Richards is talking candidly about her divorce from Mauricio Umansky.
The 54-year-old reality actress stated she didn’t “expect anyone to pick up anything about our marriage on camera” during the next season of the Bravo series during a panel discussion for the fourth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at BravoCon 2023.
Without a camera, I had no idea how to traverse it at all. That’s why it confused me at first, she said, adding that it was really tough for her and her family.
She continued, “What we went through was kind of new for me.” We’ve been living under one roof from the beginning of the program, and I wasn’t sure how to handle it. Furthermore, I’m not good at pretending. My poker face is not very good. I’m not excited or happy about a lot of the things that happen with my hubby, as you can see.
While filming the upcoming season of Bravo, the actor broke down in tears and talked about her personal troubles.
“At first, I was telling the girls that I was struggling and that I needed to solve my own problems. In addition, I had a really tough time [at] my sister Kathy’s reunion; that was really hurtful,” she revealed. “There were a lot of things going on for me, and I simply attempted to maintain it together. I had also lost my best friend to suicide.”
She went on, “We have an exceptionally solid family unit and we love each other very much. We are clan no matter what happens.” “My three girls are still living at home. We’re working to figure it out, but he wasn’t around as much because he was preoccupied with DWTS. We are aware that we are in love.
She went on, fighting back tears, “I just want to convey that a lot of individuals think, ‘Pull it together.'” Fix it. That’s obviously what I would desire. Obviously, this is not how I envision my fairy tale. In any case, thank you very much for your support.
Richards also acknowledged that she didn’t enjoy talking about her marriage on camera, stating, “I felt like I was on the defensive when I was in front of the cameras, but if I had been contacted on a cell phone and asked one-on-one, I would have been much more open… It seemed as though everyone was aiming at me.
She went on, “I didn’t think it needed for me to show up on camera.” “It’s still hard to acknowledge, but one of my greatest achievements is my family and marriage.”
Although Richards’ reluctance to discuss her relationship issues with her costar on RHOBH, Garcelle Beauvais, believed that Richards had to acknowledge that she was an integral component of a reality program.
“We’re on the reality show, but I feel bad for Sarah and everything she’s going through,” she said. Asking each other questions is a part of our profession.I thus don’t want to think that by asking questions, we’re the bad guys.
“The way the queries were asked was the problem; they could have been asked in a more caring way — less so with you than with Sutton,” Richards said. “Over the past 13 years, I’ve shared a lot of my life, but it might have been done with more empathy.”
Richards said, “People frequently respond to me as well, ” What is the greatest misunderstanding about what you’re experiencing right now?’ and I’ve noticed internet so many times that that we’ve set this up for ratings.” In response, she clarified any misunderstandings raised by the RHOBH panel during another panel on Sunday. There is 13 years of the show, I think everyone knows that.”
“First of all, what kind of person would do that to their family?” she asked. Make them endure that? Furthermore, we are receiving excellent evaluations, so we don’t require assistance with them. I’m not making anything up; instead, it’s a very real-life scenario that is uncomfortable and challenging, and I’m trying to handle it while using cameras while the outside world is interfering. It’s been very difficult but everybody’s been extremely supportive.”
She also laughed as she said, “Don’t do that show,” when asked what suggestions she could offer herself as a first-day housewife.
It’s not about the show, so I really can’t hold it against it.Personally, I believe that your marriage can never last if you go on reality television and there are flaws in it,” she said.
“We were thrilled for a very long time,” she continued.Over the past 13 years, I’ve undergone a lot of change, and I constantly want to improve.Despite my dislike of conflict, I’ve had to engage in more of it. I’m pleased with the person I’ve become.
Following PEOPLE’s exclusive disclosure of Richards’ split from Umansky in July, Richards made these remarks.
In a joint Instagram statement at the point in time, the pair refuted reports that they were divorcing: “With reference to the story that surfaced about us today… Everything that says we are divorcing is not true. Yes, it has been a difficult year. the hardest one we’ve had together. However, we have a great deal of love and respect for one another. Nobody has committed a transgression.”
“Even though i are in the public’s sights, we ask that we be able to collaborate through our issues privately,” Richards and Umansky continued.
“When it may be enjoyable to suggest, please refrain from fabricating false stories that complement another salacious narrative,” they said. “I appreciate all of your love and help. Mauricio and Kyle.”
