Kim Cattrall is prepared to once again fill Samantha Jones’ stunning shoes.

On Tuesday, August 22, Cattrall sent a message on Instagram in honor her own 67th birthday that said, “‘Imagine what your future are headed and it will be so.'” The actress included a shot of herself seated on a throne wit her hands resting on two enormous sculptures of lions in her post.

A second post showing her holding up two cupcakes with birthday candles while singing “Birthday” by The Beatles went along with the first picture.

Following an appearance on And Just Like That’s second season, Cattrall will begin her 67th year. The Max spinoff, which debuted in 2021 and has an entirely novel story over Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), did not have Cattrall reprise her iconic role as Samantha Jones from the original Sex and the City for its six seasons on HBO and its two subsequent sequels.

A disagreement between Samantha and Carrie was stated to be the cause of her absence in season 1 of AJLT, while below the scenes, Cattrall continually criticized the program and Parker. Cattrall, though, was reportedly only going to appear in one episode of the season’s Season 2 finale, that airs on the following day, August 24. This was according to a May story. Despite the fact that Cattrall is only momentarily returning to the SATC world (and apparently didn’t film alongside her old costars), she knew just how she wanted Samantha to return: in style.

When the HBO president called and said, “What can we do?,” I thought, “Hmm. During a June visit on The View, Cattrall said, “Let me be creative. “And the last of those tasks was getting [costume designer] Patricia Field back, because I just thought that if I’m going to come back, I must return back with the Samantha style, I gotta push it.”

With whom Cattrall has had many highs and lows over the years, Cattrall’s former co-star Parker said to Entertainment Tonight back in June that she was “really excited” about the appearance.

“I thought it was a very wonderful concept, and I was delighted that, i know, we were able to make it materialize and that it works for her. It’s just really lovely to see. It’s extremely lovely. I was pretty happy,” Parker, 58, said at the time.

Parker has stated that Cattrall was initially passed over for the resurrection because “she made it clear” that it was “not someone she wanted to pursue.”

Parker stated to The Entertainment Reporter in December 2021, “It no longer felt comfortable for us, so it didn’t occur to us.” “You have to listen to someone, and if they’re talking in public about something and it doesn’t seem like somewhere they want to go, or someone they want to play,

Despite the fact that the facts of the conflict between Wilson and Cattrall are unknown, Cattrall publicly expressed her support for Parker after her brother passed away in February 2018 and advised Parker to “stop exploitation of our tragedy to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

Parker, on the other hand, has subsequently denied any allegations that she abused Cattrall during their time together as a team.

During a June 2022 visit on the “Awards Chatter” podcast, Parker remarked, “I have been careful up not always wishing to say any that is negative, so it’s extremely hard to talk about the issue with Kim. “One individual has spoken thus far. I’ve worked very hard over the years to always be kind to everyone on the set, to look out for people, to be accountable to and for others, both myself and the people I feel I have a duty to as the show’s producer. And nobody else has ever expressed their opinions on me in this manner.
